Where can I buy products for use with the Learning Spot™ Library?
The easiest way to purchase products is by clicking the "Shop Now" button located within the left-side frame of the library. This will take you directly to the current list of products available. Products in this list can be filtered by product category, subject, or grade.
How do I purchase a product within the application?
The easiest way to purchase products is by clicking the "Shop Now" button located within the left-side frame of the application. When you find a product that you wish to purchase, simply click the "Buy Now" button and enter your password when prompted. If you have not previously provided a credit card, you will be asked to add one at this time.
I need to update the credit card saved with my account. How can I do that?
Open the application and log in to your account. Select "Account Settings" at the top right of the screen. The last four-digits of your credit card will appear in the "Credit Card" section. Click the "Edit" button to update the card number, expiration date, security code, or billing address associated with that card.
I accepted an update for the Digital Library and now it appears to be missing. How can I find it?
Look for an application named "Learning Spot™ Library." Previous versions of the application were named "Digital Library" in the applications folder and were removed during the update process. Any content contained in your library previously should be automatically available in the newer version.
What does the asterisk (*) next to the Message Center mean?
The asterisk appears whenever you have a new message that has not yet been viewed. Once you view the message, the asterisk will disappear until a new message is available.
How do I use a redemption code to download my product?
When you purchase products on a website, you will receive a redemption code with your confirmation email. Click the "Redeem" button within the Learning Spot™ Library and enter the redemption code into the field provided. Your content will begin to download automatically; once the download process is complete, the content will appear in your library.
I had to cancel during the download process. How can I get access to this content?
If you had a network failure or needed to cancel during a download, simply click the "Sync Content" button or restart the application. The download will be restarted and the product will appear in your library once the process is complete.
How do I sort content within My Library?
Click the top of the appropriate column to sort your products ascending or descending by title, subject area, or grade.
Registration and Account Settings
How do I authorize my device to access my Learning Spot™ Library content?
Each time you log in from an unauthorized device, you will be asked if you want to add it to your list of authorized devices. Enter a nickname for the device, such as "Home Computer" and click the "Authorize" button. If you have exceeded your five-device limit, you will need to deauthorize an existing device before you can proceed.
How can I change my password?
To update the password associated with your account, log in to your Learning Spot™ Library from any authorized device and select the "Change Password" button within the Account Settings section. The new password will be required the next time you log in to the application from any of your authorized devices.
I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
From the log in screen, click "Forgot your password?" Enter the email address associated with your account and you will be sent an email with a temporary password.
Can I change the email address associated with my account?
Yes, however, this changes your username as well. You will need to use your new email address/username the next time you log in to the application from any of your authorized devices.
Why do I have to log in to my account to authorize my device?
This is how the application associates the device with your account and allows you to access all of your previously purchased content.
How do I get my content onto a second or third device?
Download and install the Learning Spot™ Library on to each device. Log in with your account information and the system will automatically download your previous purchases. To get the latest version of the Learning Spot™ Library, download it from here.
On how many different devices can I access my content?
You may install the Learning Spot™ Library and access your content on up to five different devices.
How do I deauthorize a device that I no longer have access to or want to use?
Access the Account Settings section from a machine that you do have access to/want to use. Choose the device from the list of authorized devices and click the "Deauthorize Device" button.
Learning Spot™ Lessons
Is the content standards-based?
Yes! Open the lesson and click the "Correlations to Standards" button on the Teacher Dashboard to view the unit's specific correlations for your state.
Why can't I access certain sections of my Learning Spot™ Lesson?
Your Learning Spot™ Lessons unit is a sample; please purchase the full version to gain access to this content.
I've downloaded a sample unit and like it. How can I gain access to the rest of the content?
Simply click on any disabled content within the sample version and a pop-up will appear asking you if you wish to purchase the full version. Select "Buy Now" and you will be directed to the product within the Learning Spot™ store.
Alternatively, you can locate the product within the Learning Spot™ store by using the left hand navigation. Click the "Buy Now" button and once you've enter your password, the remainder of the content will be downloaded automatically.
How do I print my practice pages?
Click the thumbnail image for the practice page you wish to print. A printable version of the page will open in Adobe® Acrobat® Reader. Chose "File > Print" from the menu at the top. If you do not have the latest version of Acrobat® Reader, you can download it here.
Why doesn't my Learning Spot™ Library respond properly when I touch my whiteboard?
Is the USB cable properly connected? Have you tried to calibrate the board? For other brand-specific issues, review technical support materials provided by the board manufacturers or contact your technical support personnel.
Why should I use the Learning Spot™ Library's writing tool instead of the writing tools that came with my interactive whiteboard?
The manufacturer's tool may not work as desired. The writing tool provided with the Learning Spot™ Library has been optimized to work with our application.
Learning Spot™ eBooks
How can I print pages from my eBook?
Click the "Printable Version" button in the top taskbar to open a print-friendly PDF version of your eBook in Adobe® Acrobat® Reader. Chose "File > Print" from the menu at the top to print. If you do not have the latest version of Acrobat® Reader, you can download it here.
I recently purchased an eBook, why am I unable to open it from my library?
Ensure that you have the most up-to-date version of the Learning Spot™ Library. Versions prior to 2.0.0 do not support the use of eBooks. Once you update the application, your eBooks will automatically begin to operate as intended.
Hardware & Software Requirements
The Learning Spot™ Library is optimized to run on either the Windows® 7 or Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.x. However, Windows Vista®, Windows® XP, Mac Lion OS 10.7.x, and Mac Leopard 10.5.x are also supported.
Supported for use on most major display technologies, including interactive whiteboards.
At this time, the Carson-Dellosa Learning Spot™ Library does not support mobile device installation.
Do I need to be connected to the Internet to access the Learning Spot™ Library?
In order to have the best overall experience, it is recommended that you use the Learning Spot™ Library with an internet connection whenever possible as certain functionality such as registration, downloading new content, or access account settings require it. However, you do not need to have an active internet connection to utilize already purchased and downloaded content.
I have multiple Operating Systems running on my computer. Can I install the Learning Spot™ Library on both of them?
Yes, but each operating system will count as a single authorized device.
Why does it ask me for a password to install the Learning Spot™ Library?
Sometimes a password is required by an individual device in order to install software. If you do not have sufficient privileges to your device or cannot remember your password, contact your technical support personnel for assistance.
Why isn’t my audio working?
Make sure cables are connected, sound is not muted, and external speakers are selected in your system preferences.
Without prior installation of Adobe® AIR®, installation of the Carson-Dellosa Learning Spot™ Library will fail on Mac OS 10.5.x. To resolve this issue, please install the program prior to installation of the Learning Spot™ Library. You can download the latest version of Adobe® AIR® available for this operating system here.
Adobe® AIR® crashes with certain late-model Apple computers running 10.7.2. To resolve this issue, please upgrade OS to 10.7.3 or use workaround provided by Adobe® here.
